After Loss Advisors - Our Why

I’m Kylee (the face behind After Loss Advisors). I wanted to take the chance to tell you more about who I am, and why I started helping families navigate end-of-life logistics

I’m a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. I was born and raised in the mountains of Colorado, continued my education in Denver, and now live in the metro area with my family. I’ve always been very close to my family, and have been lucky to live less than an hour drive from them for the majority of my life.

But in 2015, our lives changed forever.

My sweet Dad was diagnosed with cancer. He lived with the disease for three years before he had a stroke in 2018, and passed away shortly thereafter. Our worlds were rocked.

Following his death, my Mom, brother and I were thrown into the weeds of navigating life after the loss of a loved one. There were the neverending and frustrating phone calls to service providers like Comcast or Verizon, trying to amend names on bank accounts or insurance policies, and so many tasks that we never realized would be thrown on us… all in a time where we just wanted to grieve and be together.

After some time had passed, and upon reflecting upon the after loss experience, I couldn’t help but remark to my Mom, “Don’t you wish we had just had someone who could have helped us through it all?” and it was in this moment that the idea for After Loss Advisors was born.

We’ve heard countless other stories about family members who wished they had more help after losing a loved one, and are here to tell you now that you are not alone.
